Vietnam Maritime Commercial Joint Stock Bank (MSB) and the Asian Development Bank (ADB) have officially signed the Confirming Bank Agreement (CBA). The agreement is effective from February 25, 2025,
MSB is one of the pioneering banks in Vietnam taking the role of confirming bank under ADB's Trade Finance Program (TFP).
ADB's TFP aims at providing guarantees and loans for international trade activities, has been supporting small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in trade finance transactions among ADB member banks. Participation in this program will provide MSB with opportunities to collaborate with other ADB members,while also contributing to the advancement of international cooperation. This is an important step that helps MSB enhance the bank’s position and affirm its reputations in the global market.
Previously, on November 11, 2011, MSB officially became a member of ADB's Trade Finance Program (TFP) by signing the Issuing Bank Agreement (IBA). Since then, MSB has leveraged the credit lines received from ADB and expanded the correspondent banks worldwide, especially with partners that are members of the program, contributing to the maintenance and enhancement of service quality for SME customers and affirming MSB’s reputation in the international financial market. In 2021, MSB was honored to be awarded by ADB as the "Leading SME Trade Bank", within the TFP program, for leading achievements in trade finance transactions and disbursement values, including guarantees and funding for SME businesses from July 1, 2020, to June 30, 2021.
