After the first 9 months of 2025, following the direction of the State Bank, Vietnam Maritime Commercial Joint Stock Bank (Vietnam Maritime Commercial Joint Stock Bank) has continued to strongly deploy the “Digital Learning Popularity” Movement throughout the system. With a detailed action plan developed by the Board of Directors, clear assignment of tasks and a spirit of close coordination between units, the movement has spread widely, contributing to promoting digital thinking and creating an important foundation for Vietnam Maritime Commercial Joint Stock Bank’s comprehensive digital transformation journey.

The highlight of the quarter is the program “Popular Learning AI” – an online course and exam on artificial intelligence knowledge for all officers and employees from Band 1 to Band 7. This is considered a foundational training step to help the Vietnam Maritime Commercial Joint Stock Bank team become familiar with concepts, tools and thinking related to AI. The course completion rate reached 96.45%, demonstrating the proactive learning spirit and strong response of nearly 8,000 staff throughout the system.

At the same time, Vietnam Maritime Commercial Joint Stock Bank organized the creative contest “AI ARENA” – a central activity in the AI Valley mission of the Alliance 2025 program: Journey to Exceed Expectations. The competition aims to stimulate the spirit of innovation through the problem of applying AI in designing sales toolkits for Individual and Business Customers. With 146 entries sent from all units, the program selected and honored the Top 20 and Top 10 outstanding individuals/groups. Many outstanding ideas are being synthesized for practical application, directly contributing to the bank’s business activities.

Not stopping at knowledge playgrounds, in 2025 Vietnam Maritime Commercial Joint Stock Bank will also launch the reward emulation program “M – more effective 2025”, focusing on innovation initiatives with AI applications. By the end of the third quarter, there were 41 initiatives recorded, many of which were successfully Go-live and brought about clear results. These include:

• Chatbot AI supports 24/7 for Sales and Customer Service forces: helps officers easily retrieve information in natural language, AI analyzes and provides accurate, concise terms, improving speed and quality of service.
• TradeDoc AI – automatically checks import and export documents: extract data, compare content, detect discrepancies and quickly create inspection reports through automation processes.
• Intelligent Automation for IT Service Desk: automating 100% of the authorization flow, creating/closing accounts when employees are onboard – offboard, combining RPA – AI – API to minimize manual operations.
• AI application for word processing, PDF, Excel: supports summarizing, translating, and analyzing data as required, helping to optimize business processing time.
• AI detects transaction fraud: applies Random Forest, Gradient Boosted Tree algorithms to identify accounts with unusual signs and warn promptly.
• Pre-emptive automated alert RPA at Automated Teller Machine: bot automatically checks TMS data, analyzes high-risk Automated Teller Machines and sends alerts to reduce operational risk.
• AI reads and accounts for electronic invoices: applies OCR – NLP – RPA to extract, check, and compare invoices in just a few seconds, integrating with eProcurement and Vendor Portal to ensure accuracy and compliance.

The above outstanding activities not only spread the spirit of learning and innovation within Vietnam Maritime Commercial Joint Stock Bank but also contribute to forming digital skills for the staff, helping each officer confidently become a “digital worker” in the new era. Products and initiatives from the movement are also being put into practice in many business sectors, directly contributing to operational efficiency and service quality.

With the results achieved, Quarter III/2025 marks an important transformation for Vietnam Maritime Commercial Joint Stock Bank in the journey of popularizing AI, promoting digital transformation and creating an innovative and creative environment, where every employee has the opportunity to create practical value for the bank and for customers.
