MSB honored with a certificate of merit from The Ministry Of Public Security for its high-tech crime prevention and combating solutions

At the Conference on the Signing and Implementation of the Coordination Plan between the Ministry of Public Security and the State Bank of Vietnam on online fraud prevention and combat, Vietnam Maritime Commercial Joint Stock Bank (MSB) was honored to be among the organizations receiving a Certificate of Merit from the Minister of Public Security in recognition of its contributions to researching and jointly piloting solutions for preventing and combating high-tech crimes.

Amid the rapid growth of digital transformation and electronic payments, online scams, financial fraud, and high-tech crimes have become increasingly sophisticated, posing significant threats to cybersecurity, the safety of the financial system, and the interests of citizens. In response, strengthening cooperation between law enforcement agencies and the banking sector has been identified as a key solution to proactively prevent, detect, and combat illegal activities in cyberspace.

As one of the pioneering credit institutions in digital transformation, MSB has proactively advised on and rigorously implemented the Party’s directives, the State’s legal policies, and the Ministry of Public Security’s guidance on cybersecurity assurance and the prevention and combat of high-tech crimes. The Bank has also actively collaborated with competent authorities to research, develop, and deploy technological solutions aimed at preventing, detecting, and addressing fraudulent and online scam activities.

In particular, through the implementation of its early warning solutions, MSB issued alerts to 41,388 customers, promptly preventing potentially risky transactions and helping safeguard VND 167.3 billion of customers’ assets from the risk of misappropriation. In addition, MSB has effectively implemented an electronic document-based information request and response system, thereby enhancing coordination efficiency among relevant authorities in combating high-tech crimes. Many of the Bank’s initiatives and solutions have delivered tangible results, received positive recognition in practice, and contributed to strengthening customer protection capabilities while ensuring the safety of banking operations in the digital environment.

Receiving the Certificate of Merit from the Minister of Public Security is a recognition of MSB’s continuous efforts and contributions to cybersecurity assurance and the prevention and combat of high-tech crimes. It also serves as a motivation for the Bank to continue investing in technology, enhancing risk management capabilities, and strengthening cooperation with relevant authorities to build a safe and transparent digital financial environment, thereby protecting citizens’ interests and supporting the development of Vietnam’s digital economy.

The Certificate of Merit from the Minister of Public Security is a meaningful acknowledgment of MSB’s persistent efforts throughout its 35-year development journey, while also reaffirming the Bank’s commitment to protecting customers against cyber fraud risks.
