Three World-Class Musical Masterpieces Converge at the Ho Gum Opera House
25/05/2026On the nights of May 23 and 24, the stage of the Ho Gum Opera House transformed into a sublime space of art with the special musical program “Musical Night,” leaving a profound resonance in the hearts of the capital’s public. The performance concluded flawlessly thanks to the brilliant artistry of the performers and the solid support from MSB – a brand that silently champions enduring spiritual values.
“Musical Night” was not merely a performance of extracted scenes, but a daring artistic experiment, structuring and weaving three world-class classic masterpieces together: The Phantom of the Opera, Notre-Dame de Paris, and Les Misérables into a complete artistic whole. Within it, music served as the red thread, connecting all historical conflicts and contradictions into a vivid journal of human life.

The Journey from “Soul,” “Instinct” to “Ideal”
The performance was divided into three parts with sequential messages, guiding the audience through various layers of emotion. Opening with part one titled “Soul,” the audience was transported back to the mysterious space of the Opera Garnier from the story of The Phantom of the Opera.

Romantic yet haunting melodies through songs like Think of Me and The Music of the Night portrayed unrequited love and a hidden genius in the dark, creating a poetic beginning.

Immediately following, part two with the theme “Instinct” – inspired by Notre-Dame de Paris – was an epic anthem of love, faith, and salvation. The production team skillfully painted a contrasting space between light and dark, between the character’s physical flaws and their noble inner soul. This contrast was pushed to a climax through the harmony of Belle and the heartbreaking pain in Danse Mon Esmeralda.

An emotional scene in Les Misérables
The artistic journey concluded perfectly in part three titled “Ideal,” based on the masterpiece Les Misérables. The profound humanitarian spirit was powerfully conveyed through magnificent masterpieces like I Dreamed a Dream, Do You Hear the People Sing, and the majestic chorus One Day More. This was where the desire for freedom and love was celebrated, forcefully steering listeners toward Truth, Compassion, and Beauty.
To achieve this artistic sublimity, the program gathered top-tier Opera vocalists in Vietnam today, such as Meritorious Artist Huy Duc, Dao To Loan, Bui Trang, Truong Linh… in collaboration with the Symphony Orchestra and Chorus of the Vietnam National Opera and Ballet (VNOB) and Hanoi Voices, under the baton of Conductor Dong Quang Vinh. Accompanying them was support from advanced stage technology, Visual effects, and 3D mapping, blurring the line between reality and illusion.
A Fulcrum of Enduring Values and the Continuation of Heritage
For such pinnacle works to reach the public fully, the role of a companion is paramount. The “Musical Night” concert once again witnessed the close bond between the Ho Gum Opera House and Vietnam Maritime Commercial Joint Stock Bank (MSB) – a name that is becoming increasingly familiar in deep, meaningful art projects in Vietnam.

For MSB, accompanying academic music spaces is not just a branding story, but lies deep within the underlying philosophy of an organization entering its 35th year of sustainable development. Thirty-five years is a long journey for a financial institution to assert its position, and it is also a period to accumulate an understanding of the value of time-tested heritages. There is an invisible yet profound similarity between academic art and the journey of building a standard brand: Both demand perseverance, serious investment, and an internal strength solid enough to withstand the test of time.
The resonance between the elite artistic gathering place of the Ho Gum Opera House and MSB’s depth-oriented philosophy provided the audience with fully sublime moments. The beautiful lingering echoes following the performance not only affirmed a shared vision in honoring values marked by time, but also served as MSB’s enduring commitment on the journey to bring elite artistic values to the hearts of every customer as well as the art-loving public in general.
