Implementing the regulations of the State Bank of Vietnam in Circular 17/2024/TT-NHNN, Circular 18/2024/TT-NHNN and Circular 25/2025/TT-NHNN, from January 1, 2026 Vietnam Maritime Commercial Joint Stock Bank will stop accepting Passport as identification documents for customers who are Vietnamese citizens, specifically as below here:

• Scope of impact: Stop accepting Passport for transactions on all channels
• Application period: From January 1, 2026
• Valid identification documents: Citizen identification card with chip/ Identification card/ Electronic identification card or Birth certificate for people under 14 years old who do not have an identification card

If you are using your Passport as identification documents at Vietnam Maritime Commercial Joint Stock Bank, please go directly to the nearest Branch/Transaction Office update your valid identification documents before January 1, 2026 to avoid transaction interruptions.
