Scam Warning: Downloading Bank Applications to Receive Money

Recently, fake MSB (Vietnam Maritime Commercial Joint Stock Bank) social media pages have appeared, introducing events and incentive programs for downloading the bank app and opening accounts to receive money through fraudulent links.

Scammers spread information about account opening incentives on the occasion of upcoming major holidays to entice users to access available links to download fake applications.

By following these instructions, customers risk downloading fake applications containing malware, and their phones risk being compromised, losing confidential information, and having money stolen from their accounts.

To ensure account safety and security, MSB recommends that Customers:

• Refer to information about MSB’s financial products, services, and incentive/promotion programs at the official website: https://www.msb.com.vn/, and official Facebook: MSB – Ngân hàng TMCP Hàng Hải Việt Nam.

• Only install applications and perform biometric authentication on the MSB mBank application provided on official app distribution platforms such as Google Play for Android and App Store for iOS.

• Do not provide security information to anyone (including the bank), including: login information, Soft Token PIN codes, and other personal information.

• Do not install or let others install applications of unknown origin on your phone.

• Turn off Accessibility permissions on Android devices for all applications currently using this permission.

• Do not make video calls with strangers and do not perform biometric authentication on strange applications.
