MSB Sponsors the Construction of Classrooms at a School Site in Nghe An
18/10/2024On October 17, Vietnam Maritime Commercial Joint Stock Bank (MSB) collaborated with local authorities and the Department of Education and Training of Tuong Duong District (Nghe An Province) to break ground for the construction of four classrooms at Pung Bon school site, part of Huu Khuong Ethnic Boarding Primary School.
With a total investment of more than VND 2.4 billion, the four standard classrooms are expected to be completed and put into use after three months of construction, ensuring that teachers and students have safe and adequate facilities for teaching and learning. The construction of facilities at Huu Khuong Ethnic Boarding Primary School not only helps reduce the pressure caused by limited infrastructure in the commune but also contributes to the gradual implementation of the socialization of education in Tuong Duong District.
Huu Khuong Ethnic Boarding Primary School is located in a remote area within the Ban Ve Hydropower reservoir region, where transportation remains challenging. Most local residents rely primarily on agricultural production, and 86% of the population belongs to poor households.
“As a bank that pioneers sustainable development strategies, MSB has in recent years invested in building new school facilities in disadvantaged areas, helping students gain better opportunities to develop knowledge and build a brighter future. These efforts contribute to creating a more equitable and progressive society,” an MSB representative shared.

Bank leaders also expressed confidence that the new and modern classrooms will encourage students to continue the strong academic tradition of the region and grow into responsible citizens who contribute to the development and prosperity of Nghe An Province.
At the event, MSB also presented 10 gifts to students from disadvantaged backgrounds, encouraging them to overcome challenges and remain motivated in their pursuit of knowledge.
Previously, in September 2024, MSB collaborated with the People’s Committee and the Department of Education and Training of Bao Lac District, Cao Bang Province, to organize the inauguration ceremony and new school year opening at Huy Giap Ethnic Boarding Secondary School—a project built with VND 2 billion in funding from the bank. The initiative aimed to create a safe, modern and effective learning environment, helping students pursue their educational dreams while promoting improvements in local education.

As a key institution in the “backbone” sector of the economy, MSB has also implemented numerous meaningful social responsibility initiatives across various fields in addition to education.
Notably, on October 5, responding to the call of the Prime Minister, MSB donated VND 10 billion to support the elimination of temporary and dilapidated housing for poor and near-poor households nationwide.
On September 10, 2024, in response to the damages caused by Typhoon Yagi in northern provinces, MSB contributed VND 1 billion to support affected communities.
Earlier, at the end of 2023, MSB funded the construction of 22 houses for poor and near-poor households in Bao Lam District.
These contributions not only support communities in recovering from natural disasters and improving living conditions—reflecting Vietnam’s tradition of solidarity and compassion—but also demonstrate the bank’s proactive commitment to national social development programs.
